DIESEL FUEL CRISIS
|
To Our
Valued Customers:
As you
know, the price of both gasoline and diesel fuel has fluctuated
wildly over the past six months rendering it an uncontrollable cost.
Although this expense affects each of our businesses differently, it
is particularly hardest on those who use diesel fuel on a daily
basis. Recently we have instituted several contingency programs to
contain these costs, including the purchase and installation of an
on-site fuel system.
For
the short term, we are forced to implement a fuel surcharge at a
daily fixed rate. It is a "mean figure" developed from usage within
the entire crane fleet.
We
anticipate your understanding and appreciate your support in our
efforts to continue to meet the class performance you expect.

New Liebherr 1090 Joins our Fleet
|
Bob
and Rob Sautter settled on the purchase of a new Liebherr Model LTM
1090 to fill the gap between an aging Grove crane and our 120 ton
Liebherr cranes.
This
new All-Terrain crane offers an additional twenty-three feet of
power boom allowing quick set time and in some instances,
eliminating the need of a jib section.

Amtrak's 30th Street Station
|
The largest HVAC contractor in the tri-state area requested Bob Sautter to
work in conjunction with AMTRAK”s structural engineers to determine the
exact placement of the 250-ton capacity crane at 30th Street Station. Safety
being the greatest concern, 20-foot wooden crane mats “topped-off” with
one-inch thick steel plates were utilized to dissipate the tremendous
outrigger load pressures and eliminate any chance of a roadway collapse. The
project was completed without an incident, on time and under budget!

Art Museum Christmas Tree
|
Sautter Crane Rental asserts its commitment to the community
by donating crane and trucking services to set the Christmas trees at the
Philadelphia Art Museum and City Hall. They first removed the large
evergreen tree from Hayden Street, Philadelphia, and set it at the center
plaza of the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Isabel Relief
Beginning with the onset of Hurricane Isabel, Sautter
Crane Rental supplemented PECO Energy's crews by providing 15 pickup trucks
and over 10 boom trucks with operators and helpers. We assisted with
emergency response to the storm's electrical outage and PECO's distribution
of dry ice to the general public.

Assembling a Skyraider
|
 |
Sautter Crane Rental assisted the U.S. Navy with the unloading and assembly
of a World War II A-1 Skyraider. Once assembled, our 120-ton Liebherr
crane provided the plane's final flight to a pedestal for permanent display.
The Skyraider is designed to attack from an aircraft carrier, and the Navy is proud to share
this plane's heritage. |

At the U.S. Mint |
|

|
Bob
Sautter, vice president, and his crew successfully completed the first project
with the new 250-ton Grove crane. Philadelphia's North Fifth Street was closed
to install two new cooling towers at the U.S. Mint. Over 280 feet of
boom was utilized to place the 4,000-pound units. Tours of the Mint were
temporarily suspended to minimize risk to the public.
A job well done! |
