Sautter Crane once again lent its services to assist the City of Philadelphia in setting up the municipality’s official Christmas tree in front of City Hall. The Colorado blue spruce was spared when the rest of the landscaping was removed from the Spectrum in advance of the November 23rd wrecking ball ceremony.

Fairmount Park employees placed straps in the tree and connected it to Sautter Crane’s 60-ton Tyrex T-560, which prevented the tree from falling when it was cut. 60 MPH wind gusts contributed to the excitement of loading the tree on a flat bed for its ride up Broad Street where it was installed at the Dilworth Plaza on the west side of City Hall.

Sautter Crane recently got the call from CMC Equipment Rental that two cranes were needed to rig the fabric roof on the new state-of-the-art Union Soccer stadium in PPL Park. The 18,500-seat stadium, being built by TN Ward Builders, is part of the $500-million waterfront revitalization project developed to “Kick Start Chester.”
Challenged by high winds, workers suspended in baskets had to work together to attach the fabric to the stadium’s steel frame. Sautter’s Liebherr LTM -7.1 500-ton and LTM-1250-6.25 300-ton cranes got the job done.

Sautter Crane was featured in Inside Nuclear, Exelon Nuclear Energy’s own publication.
Sautter worked with technical advisors, Magna Electric of Canada and linemen from Matrix to rig the cooler fan assembly into the new main power transformer at Exelon’s Peach Bottom Nuclear Facility.
The team used human performance tools to ensure sage and error-free execution of the work.
Exelon team leader, Jon Haney was quoted in the article as saying:
